However, unlike a copious amount of archetypal metal bands that slavishly cement themselves to a tried and trusted metal music and image, Wayward won’t be labelled as ‘just another metal band’. With a creative sound that essentially has a blues based fortitude, this band of metal devotees plan to evolve and explore with a ‘progressive metal blues sound’ that will take the band and their metal fans into new and interesting directions. The words to the bands music are provided by their lead singer Bob Whitney, an established and cultivated poet who has had compositions successfully published. With his screamingly energetic vocals combined with aggressive and at times melodic guitar playing, the crowd respond to the power of the bands unified fire and skill.Although the band don’t talk about it much their first demo was recorded and produced in an old shed in the garden of band brothers Joe and Harry Nash. A remarkable accomplishment with all the raw energy of the band captured by working on every track every day a bit more, writing the songs, rehearsing and then going to the shed to record and produce the material. Their ethical hard work and endeavour to create their own distinctive metal sound and a drive to move metal forward has brought them adulation from many unexpected quarters. A comprehensive following of loyal fans has meant that one particular fan has commissioned Wayward to compose music and lyrics for an Independent Film that is a sociological horror movie soon to be in production. Come and hear the band and realize what they are creating for themselves and delivering to a growing audience. You can really hear how much they love what they’re doing, which in turn makes you love it too.
