Formed as a side project by two members of Scottish Rock Band STML, Voice of the Black Knife (VOTBK) is an acoustic folk-country-swamp blues-punk band, with an almost southern gothic style of dark guitar-based songs about death, the devil and social unrest.

VOTBK is:

Iain: Acoustic guitar, vocals from Stornoway
John: Acoustic guitar, electric Guitar and vocals from Liverpool
Roddy: Drums, from Romano Bridge
Dan: Bass, from Ireland
Andy: Electric guitar, mandolin from Lockerbie
