Vaults formed in north London during February 2008. They are Joey (lead vox, guitar 19), Andrew (lead guitar, vox, 25), David (bass, vox, 22) and Adam (drums, vox, 21). They play indie pop music whilst subtly staying ahead of mainstream conformity.
Vaults met in the streets and clubs of north London and shaped their sound through their shared love of bands like Television, The Cure, Bowie and The Strokes. Vaults are not scenesters nor did any of them attend art school, they are a band working passionately, trying to prove them selves through their music.
In the few months since they formed, Vaults have played to near death and sung until it hurts, they have laughed and cried, fallen out and fallen over, Vaults wear their hearts on their sleeves.
Playing live is where Vaults set them selves apart! Joey sings of heartache, break-ups and late night rendezvous in sleazy Soho bars whilst all the time making girls swoon and boys jump up and down as he exuberates his charismatic charm. Adams vintage drum kit gets abused by his prog/jazz influenced method influenced by the likes of Mitch Mitchell and John Theodore while David messes with convention thrashing his bass like he is wielding a lead guitar and Andrew thunders his love for power ballads and big riffs through his AC30 and transforms them into angular and catchy indie hooks.
In May Vaults went into Dreamtrak studios, Holloway with Oli Horton producer of Foals latest single ‘Red Socks Pugie’ and over a few days through a combination of hard work, committed songwriting and a classic pop sensibility, we made our new demo's which can be found at www.myspace.com/vaultsuk
