“A fresh female vocalist with catchy lyrics and a distinguished style”

Anglo-Czech, V-Double-E, is an artist who keeps it real. With comparisons to Lily Allen and Lady Sovereign this Vocalist and MC writes lyrics that reflect on her personal experiences. The sound she creates is easy on the ear and is appreciated by music lovers on a global scale.
V-Double-E was born and raised in North West London to a Czech mother and English father. Her passion for performing came at an early age, taking dance and drama classes at a local Saturday school. She had a natural ear for music but only started to take things more seriously after completing a HND in Popular Music.
Her main musical motivation was her brother, DJ Rob Random, who specialises in the Drum and Bass Genre. He introduced her to vocalists such as, Jenna G, MC Stamina and Tali, who inspired her to follow in their footsteps. She accompanied Rob at numerous Drum and Bass events, responding spontaneously to the music through vocal harmonies and MC rap patterns.
She says “Freestyling spontaniously is a great way of expressing how I’m feeling. It’s amazing to see a dance floor full of people who are enjoying the music as much as I am”.
V-Double-E began securing gigs at a range of Drum and Bass events including Movement, Xpression, No Rest For The Wicked, Definition, Fizzy Friday and Technicality.
At this point V-Double-E wanted to grow as an artist and began writing her own material. She drew inspiration from her day to day experiences which ranged from broken hearts, the public transport system and ‘that time of the month’. Her goal is to entertain and feels she has been “put on this planet to help people whether it’s through music or charity work”.
V-Double-E enjoys working with other creative people and has collaborated on projects with The Roundhouse, The London Urban Collective and with artists Markan and Illmatika MC. She also participated on T4’s reality show ‘Musicool’ and became a finalist in Phuturehype, an annual female MC competition. Her debut showcase was at Cafe De Paris and she has performed at Drum and Bass events in Israel and France.
Her recent collaboration with super producer Stereo Dan, entitled ‘Don’t Hold Me Back’, has received airplay on Ras Kwame’s Homegrown Podcast on Radio 1Xtra, “I guess what I like about this record is it's quirkiness. I'm always looking for something a little bit fresh. I thought this was kinda good”. The record also received airplay on Tom Robinson’s show BBC Introducing on 6 Music “We played it and fell in love with it”.
V-Double-E is still focusing on recording solo material and continues to perform PA’s at events across London. She recently joined electro- pop band State City Disco, who are working towards an album and promotional tour.
Her creative passion, drive and determination allow her to excel in what she loves best. Vocalist Jenna G wrote “Up and coming? Well as hard as she works I think the only way is up for this lady”. See for yourself at www.myspace.com/vdoublee
