Born in Nigeria but raised in London, Ty takes in a myriad of influences, as is evident on his recent collaboration with Femi Kuti's drummer, Tony Allen. A product of the North London spoken word/ poetry/hip-hop scene, after his 2001 debut 'Awkward' on the BigDada label Ty has busied himself touring and performing with like-minded artist Biznizz and recording his follow up.
