Formed as the "BBC Radio Leicester All Stars" in 2007 to raise funds for the Rainbows children's hospice in Loughborough, Leicestershire. The band was part of BBC Radio Leicester's 40th birthday 'Ruby Rainbow Appeal'.
Highlights include a sell-out BBC birthday gala concert at Leicester's De Montfort Hall with Showaddywaddy, the Glastonbudget tribute band festival, Leicester's Curve theatre and the Frontier club at Batley.
Relaunched as 'The upBeatles', the band is a caricature of the original Fab Four as they continue on a "Magical Mystery Tour" down "Penny Lane" in celebration of those sounds from the swinging sixties. The upBeatles are: Tony Wadsworth, Pete Hancock, Chris Highton and Mark Whitehouse. *Note: The upBeatles operate independently of BBC Radio Leicester*
