"Tantric rock genius"
The Police are a three-piece rock band consisting of singer/bassist Sting, guitarist Andy Summers, and drummer Stewart Copeland. The band became popular in the early 1980s, playing a style of rock that was influenced by reggae and punk music. The band's Synchronicity album from 1983 was number one in the UK and the US, and went Platinum eight times in the US. The band broke up in the mid-1980s.The Police reunited in 2007 to perform at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards. They announced they will be touring together in 2007 and playing at the Live Earth concert in July.

The Police add final North American shows The Police will return to North America for one last time this summer for a strong of newly-announced live shows.
