The Lines
"www.myspace.com/wearethelines"
The Lines have only been officially going since January 2006 with their new line up. The band hail from Wolverhampton and are a group of dedicated individuals with big ambition. They have recently been tipped for big things by numerous industry insiders, having lately gained some very positive press coverage following their successes in numerous Live Midlands based Radio-station (Beacon and Kerrang!) and University competitions. Since they have been together they have built up a large following in the Wolverhampton City music scene. The Lines have also expanded their performances outside of their home City and have played at venues around the country. The band have supported many signed artists such as Babyshambles, The Twang, The Paddingtons, Little Man Tate, Editors, The Mexicolas, Bromheads Jacket, Electric Soft Parade, 747s, Polytechnic, Jack Penate, The Holloways, The Maccabees, Scott Matthews, The Heights, Bez from Happy Mondays, Nigel Clarke (Dodgy), and the up-and-coming Australian band Howling Bells. It has been said that The Lines sound varies from song to song but have a good collection of up beat songs that can be enjoyed by the majority of indie listeners. It is hard to say who The Lines sound like, despite them having strong influences from Radiohead to The Klaxons, they like to have a sound that can only be described as The Lines.
