Formed around 2004, The King Blues got their first break when Zane Lowe and Mike Davies of Radio 1 gave the band airplay of their single "Mr Musicman". They released their debut album "Under the Fog" not long after on Household Name Records. The band were soon touring with Gogol Bordello, Bedouin Soundclash and Specials legend Jerry Dammers. They also supported Hard-Fi on their 2007 arena tour of the UK. Their music is ska-tinged punk with political messages, taking influences from Billy Bragg, The Clash and Bob Marley. They re-released their debut album on Island Records in 2008 and featured singles "Mr Musicman", "Lets Hang the Landlord" and "Come Fi Di Youth". The six piece played on the Left Field stage at the 2008 Glastonbury Festival.
