The Faint formed in 1995 in Omaha, Nebraska. The band have put out eight full length releases, though their first album was under their original name Norman Bailer. They have since made five albums as The Faint, though two of their eight releases have been remixes of the 'Blank Wave Arcade' and 'Danse Macabre' albums. The Faint used to feature Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes on guitar, but he left not long after the band was formed. Throughout their existence they have made generally indie music, though have leaned towards techno-dance music on their last two albums.
