The Erstwhile Collective started as an idea in Andi’s head. He
collected Mark, courtesy of Zigzag, and they recorded an album. Mark
sang and Andi played (and programmed). It was good, but it wasn’t
live. Then Mark drove away in his Stingray and Andi dreamed again.
This time the Collective would be real. Mand, the teller, told of
Billy, who drummed, and after a note of Simply Music, Jon was there
on bass. That, with Andi’s guitar, just left the voice. Casting the
Net wide, at first there was nothing. Then, like buses, two came at
once. Lauren, taking the lead, and Adrian, a veteran campaigner,
with steady strum and backing vox. Together they played from pub to
park.
But then Jon left to study his art, so another was sought. Up
stepped Rob across the Ether and the Collective is whole again.
Wound up and ready to play. Curious songs of love and life in any
key there is – well almost.
