The Black Keys are sometimes compared to The White Stripes as both bands are blues based low fidelity musical duos.The black Keys do most of their own recording, producing, and mixing. They often experiments with odd recording techniques and production techniques, leaving in background noises. Their first album ‘The Big Come Up’ was released in 2002 to critical acclaim and recognition in the likes of Rolling Stone Magazine. Time Out named them one of the 10 best act of 2003 behind…. The White Stripes…In 2003 and 2004 The Black Keys released their second and third albums, ‘Thickfreakness’ and ‘Rubber Factory’. They have supported a number of bands including Beck and Radiohead on their last short tour of America.The band reached wider audience last year thanks to tracks like ‘Girl on My Mind’ and ‘The Deperate Man’ which both featured on TV ads.Their latest record ‘Magic Potion’ was released last September on Nonesuch Records.
