'the 4th suit'
"Swagger & contempt backed with edgy & memorable Punk melody!"
'the 4th suit' had an uncomfortable beginning, the nucleus of the band started back in 2007. Keith Gale (Guitar and backing vocals) hooked up with Trevor Holland (Drums) initially just to play their instruments very loud. After a few months of ear bashing, it was decided to recruit others into the fold! First to arrive was Matthew Oxford (Vocals) who came along to a rehearsal to see if fancied having a go! Matt had never sung in a band, but handled this daunting task as though he was born to it! The final piece of the jigsaw was getting a bassist, though we had audtioned a few, none seem to fit, until Stuart Newport (Bass and backing vocals) arrived, joined and finally the 'the 4th suit' was born! Debuting New years eve 2008 at the Queens Head in Box, the band hit the nail on the head with a blistering performance, that surprised many!!! So during 2009 the band has played a smattering of gigs, including a Harley Davidson event! The band is a melodic punkish mix, that create tension and humour in equal measure, the humour is evident in the talk back between Matt and Keith and the tension is in the music! 'the 4th suit' don't rely on a myriad of guitar effects to beef up their sound, as it's already there in the attitude of the band! Come and see us, it's far more rewarding than the same old covers band week in, week out!!!!
Punky, melodic, witty and full of attitude!

- 'Tox of 14 Carat Grapefruit came out to support The 4th Suit who'd travelled from Bristol to play. And what a fine punk band they are. And lovely blokes. The kind of band that stops me from giving up on this whole thing. Hobbyists. A good attitude. No egos. No bullshit. Mates, mostly from school. Loyal to each other. No bickering. They plugged in, following their late arrival, and played. Then they relaxed. And ate. And drank. And drove home to Bristol.' Toby Burton, Rock Til You Drop http://www.rock-til-you-drop.com/

- 'North London, thursday evening and Galileo 7 were sound-checking on arrival. The 4th Suit were on route just passing Hammersmith, they had come all the way from Bristol to entertain the motley crew that were hovering around the venue. After a brief sound-check they opened the evening ... I AM SOOO GLAD I CAME TO SEE THEM. I had caught them on Tourdates website and thought I'd check them out if they hit London. The set was a blinder, the right mix between swagger and contempt backed with edgy and memorable Punk melody. Their closing number sealed it for me, not gonna tell you what it was ... go see them! All a bunch of nice guys as well ... can't ask for much more. Thanks 4th Suit I'm glad I went out last night. It is such a shame that a band like this play to a handfull of people, they deserve more'. Tox, 14 Carat Grapefruit http://www.tourdates.co.uk/14-carat-grapefruit
