Stiff Little Fingers were formed in Ireland in 1977 when Jake Burns, who is the only founding member still with the band, started playing with Henry Cluney, Gordon Blair and Brian Falloon started playing together under the name Highway Star. They changed their name to Stiff Little Fingers when they discovered the punk movement and recorded their debut album 'Inflammable Material' in 1979, since then they have recorded eight more albums, the most recent being 'Guitar and Drums' in 2004. Stiff Little Fingers broke up in 1982 but reformed again five years later, originally with the same line-up. However, former Jam bassist Bruce Foxton joined when Ali McMordie, who had replaced Gordon Blair, left the group. In 2007, Stiff Little Fingers announced that a new album was in the process of being made, but dates have yet to be released.
