If you go to a Starseed show, it’s easy to see why fans are having the sort of responses that call for, at the very least, a straitjacket, a white van and a mop to clean up the dribble/puke/beer afterwards (not really, but it would be cool).
Quite simply, this band are chomping at the bit and poised for great things.
Andy, Dale, Pete, Gerard and Russell deliver the kind of onslaught that leaves punters moshing, cartwheeling, screaming and dry-heaving with sheer excitement. In reality, it’s some of the most satisfying melodic hard rock you’re likely to hear; infused with soaring melodies and epic energy like no other.
They’ve just signed with new management (Living it Live) and are poised to drop new EP “Love’s War” on us, with a video for the title track to go with it. Starseed is raring to go, hot on the heels of blinding performances on the Nokia Stage at Download Festival, supporting the 80s Matchbox B-Line Disaster and a fiendish Halloween jaunt at PUNK in SoHo.
At present, they are pretty much owning things at the Surface Unsigned competition, where they have just made it through to the semi finals with the air of conquerors and the grace of a slightly camp bullfighter. Best go support them in the upcoming heats, coz, well, we know where you live.
As if this isn’t enough, they’ve also been gigging their tails off (this is a family biog, people) and also nominated by FeedMe Music for the title of Best unsigned Band at the prestigious INDY Music Awards!
Basically, you just need to get the hell on down to one of their shows and snap up the new EP as fast as your pins can carry you. The band pour their souls into all they do, and their songwriting leaves a mark that’s more than a little difficult to get out, even with the toughest of detergents.
They give their all onstage, playing for the sheer joy and soaring intensity their music inspires, and for making connections that hopefully will last long after the final notes have faded out.
SEMI FINALISTS OF THE SURFACE UNSIGNED MUSIC FESTIVAL - come see them rock out on Tuesday the 5th of August 2008 - at the Dome.
