The story so far...
Small Engine Repair started out as a solo project for Phil Twigg but since enlisting the help of Tom Harrington and Dan Lewis to record a set of demos early last year he hasn’t been able to shake them off and so the band was born.
In Feb 2009 the song, 'Have You Seen What I've Become?' was used as the sound track to a documentary by the charity organisation, UK Youth.
In May they hooked up with legendary keyboardist John 'Rabbit' Bundrick (The Who, Bob Marley, Free) who played keys on one of the bands early recordings.
August saw the first release by Wiltshire based label, Hilldrop Records' with their critically acclaimed compilation, We Can Be Friends. This featured the Small Engine Repair demo of 'Serve Yourself'
Having recently recorded with producer Rob Parrett, one of the songs from the session, 'How Long' was picked up by former Radio One DJ, Chris Coco who included the song along side artists such as Peter Bjorn & John, First Aid Kit and Emmy the Great on a compilation CD entitled, Acoustic Chill. The album was released by ilabel records in October. In Feb 2010 the band performed a special show for 500 guests at St James’s Palace including the likes of Princess Anne, Prince Michael and Pixie Lott.
