Shakers In The Dark
""
By ignoring the “all style and no substance” indie wankfest of new rave, Shakers in the Dark prove that atmospheric guitars, electro soundscapes, and pulsing rhythms can create the ultimate in rocking danceable classics for all shadowy dancefloors.

Taking a lead from The Chemical Brothers, The Rapture, New Order as well as mixing in 90’s Ibiza trance classics, Shakers in the Dark provide a live set that stun audiences and have resulted in support slots with Future of the Left (Water Rats New Years Eve party, London) and We Are Wolves in their first 6 months of their existence.

The band is made up of a combination of Essex, Scottish and London elements proving a heady mix of influences and styles. Egg (vox and guitars - 26), fronts the band with violent guitar spurts and sweeping vocal melodies while Dave McSkimming (keys and vox - 27) slams the synths into your psyche with both beauty and urgency. In the rhythm section, Paul Traveller (drums - 27), provides the heartbeat of the tunes which draws dancers to the floor like moths to flame.

Just try not to dance to the music of Shakers in the Dark, it's impossible not to! But if you need any more convincing that this band are the real deal then check out their tunes on tourdates.co.uk
