A pretty good example of alternative rock; the quick patter on the high-hat that are light and successive when combined to the darker, industrial, distorted guitar riffs that reference a more conventional rock style. The vocals have the same haunting of Morrissey or Robert Smith, maybe. An altogether older sound that has a certain charming bleakness about it that gives the sound a darker edge, but ultimately re-vitalising
Saevio feel like a trip back to Seattle in the mid-90s, but with their feet firmly planted in today's indie sound. Their leisurly take on crunching guitars drenched in melody was a step away from the pitch-blackness of Social Reform into a groovier, funkier sound. Still dark and brooding but with glimmers of hope shining through, Saevio went down incredibly well.
