Rob started writing songs at 11 years old, inspired into immediate action after seeing 'Walking on the Moon' by The Police and Rainbow's 'Since you've been Gone' on Top of the Pops. “I was beside myself with excitement and enthusiasm to be like those GODS (11 remember) on TV, so I grabbed my sister’s out of tune guitar with just three strings and made up a song on it straight away”.
Rob still writes on any instrument he can lay his hands on and his writing skills, including work for other artists, coupled with his production and engineering talents has led to a diverse body of work which carries his name. As a multi-instrumentalist he also has an impressive list of collaborations with artists including David Bowie, David Richards, Nick Tauber, Dennis Bovell and Sinitta.
With such an outstanding CV, it is perhaps a surprise that Rob has only recently released his first solo album - Emotional Mechanics - self produced at Rob’s own studio ‘The Cream Room’. Not content to limit himself to the music, Rob added yet another string to his bow by creating video for key tracks on the album.
