Starting From Now the long awaited second EP from Rich Lown is finally here. Two years have passed since the Rest of Our Lives but as the title and track suggests Starting From Now is a landmark for Rich; embracing change and the unknown. After finding his voice in the last EP Rich has found the confidence to explore and diversify whilst still striving for an honest, pure sound.
Partly responsible for the new dynamic of Starting From Now are some new acquaintances. It features a duet with pianist and singer Sam Wills, licks form ex Hurricane Party guitarist Robin Hirschfield and is produced and mixed by Frankie Schulmeyer. These collaborations have added a whole new depth to Rich’s music.
Written and recorded over a year, the album speaks of the personal turbulence Rich has faced and in his incidental way, the songs offer reassurance to listeners struggling with the same questions about life; from the vulnerable uncertainty of Somehow to the bittersweet honesty of Talk to Yourself and the summery optimism of Drive. Rich hopes each song finds the right person at the right time.
