Founded by Ian Smith (bass) and Rich Weaver (guitar), Psycho baby got in a bit of fluff to sing a bunch of sexy songs. Has it paid off? You betcha!
Psycho Baby are a 4 piece, putting out 'Classic' 80's style 'cock-rock' as I like to call it. Its (excuse all the bodily adjectives) balls out, full on party rock. Similar to the style of such legends as, Hanoi Rocks, Enuff Znuff, Ratt, dare I say it....even D.C. Its good stuff, nothing particularly new, just great riff based guitar driven, in yer face rock.
If I can compare, I'd guess Psycho Baby are very similar to the once great, Baby Animals crossed with the hard rock blues based tunes of Thunder. I can't give praise much higher than that. As a collection of songs, Psycho Baby have hit musical gold. 'You Gotta Body I Want' sets their stall. Pulsing riffs, grinding bass, overlaid with great vocals and chorus to melt the heart of any bloke between 13 and 103!
Psycho Baby have stuck to a formula for the 5 songs on the EP. If it aint broke why fix it. ' Born To Be Bad' follows in similar vein. The guys also cut the mustard! Rich Weaver shreds it with the best of them and plays as if his life depended on it. Throw in the powerful rhythm section of Ian and Bostic, and the result is ONE KICK ASS BAND.
I hope they can get these songs out to a much wider audience, and get a decent support slot to boot. I sware it wont be long before Psycho Baby are headlining. Great band, great debut. The future's bright, the future's psychotic. ...Paul Chesworth, RoomThirteen Magazine...
