Primal Scream have been going for 17 years. Their first single was "All fall down" released May 1985, but before that they did record "The Orchard", featuring Judith Boyle on lead vocals with Bobby Gillespie on backing with her. This was recorded May 1983 and subsequently scrapped.The members which have always been around are: Bobby Gillespie, Andrew Innes, Martin Duffy and Throbert Young. All these members have been playing in Primal Scream since the first album; not Screamadelica (CRE 076), but Sonic Flower Groove (ELV 2), released in 1986. The only members to appear on the debut single were Bobby Gillespie (vocals) and Throbert Young (Bass). The current member line up goes as follows (date of joining and instrument in brackets): Bobby Gillespie (Vocals - 1983), Gary "Mani" Mounfield (Bass - 1996), Andrew Innes(Guitar - 1987), Martin Duffy (Keyboard - 1990 *1987*), Throbert Young (Guitar - 1985), Kevin sheilds (Guitar - 1999), Jim Hunt (Saxophone - 1999 *1997*), Duncan Mackey (Trumpet - 1999 *1997*), Darren Mooney (Drums - 1997).
