Neo post-punk quartet Planet Magnetic formed in 2008. The North London quartet comprises guitarist/songwriter Paull Withey ( who was responsible for the Diff'rent Strokes/Stripes mystery e.p). Synth/Theremin/piano player Duri Darms (former member of The Hoosiers), Bassist Adam Jarvis & drummer Euan Patterson.
Taking the dark dramatic sound of contemporary bands like Interpol, The Editors & Kings Of Leon and crossing this with the atmosphere and experimental elements of ancestors The Doors, Joy Division, & The Psychedelic Furs Planet Magnetic also have a striking visual presence marked by the members' relationship with up & coming east London designer "Jenny Schwartz " who created their onstage image. which only strengthens their originality and appeal.
A series of well-received club dates at places such as the Proud Galleries,100 club, Club Nme nights in and out of London and support slots with Boy Kill Boy, The Automatic, & Hard Fi have earned them an increasing fan-base as well as interest from producer Dave Allan ( The Cure, White Lies, Pete & The Pirates) who was so impressed by their live performances he produced 5 tracks, and called on Mark Ralf from The Filthy Dukes to mix the tracks.
