Peter Appleyard performs songs about love, deception, Simon Cowell, insomnia, country life, religion, and traffic congestion!
Raised in a small village in the wilds of West Norfolk, songwriter and musician Peter Appleyard, has always found the big skies and open spaces of his home county the ideal companion to his creative imagination.
Primarily drawing together acoustic, folk and rock influences, Peter is happy to give his musical instinct a free rein and draws on whatever feels right. What you can expect are rich dynamic melodies, poetic lyrics, powerful and distinctive vocals and the odd anthemic hook thrown in for good measure.
To date Peter’s musical path has taken a diverse and interesting route, testing his skills in writing music for television, silent films, musicals and even venturing into classical music. If you have been listening to your TV carefully you will have heard Peter’s music being used as background music in Eastenders and Doctors on BBC1!
From the earliest folk club jam sessions, to supporting national touring artists, Peter’s music has always been captivating. As his musical repertoire grows, so does his fan base!
Throughout 2009 Peter has been working hard at the Mill Studio, Winfarthing, Norfolk on his debut album ‘Day in the sun’.
The album features the stellar band of Stefan Judd on bass/percussion and Craig Brown on drums as well as special guests Steve Bingham on Violin, Jay Banmuller of London band ‘Therminology’ on Keys and his sister Helen on backing vocals.
