Opeth are a heavy metal band from Stockholm, Sweden. The band formed in 1990 and, after ten members have line-up changes down the years, currently comprimise of Mikael Akerfeldt (guitar, vocals), Frederik Akesson (guitar), Martin Mendez (bass), Martin 'Axe' Axenrot (drums) and Per Wiberg (keyboard). The band play mainly death metal, but in more recent years, have incorporated different influences into their sound such as jazz, folk and blues. Opeth have released 9 albums to date, as well as several other issues such as a live DVD and two live albums. The most successful Opeth album was their most recent - 2008's Watershed, which reached number one in Finland as well as performing well in other countries.
