Nightwish are a five-piece power metal band that compromise elements of symphony and blues into their music. They formed in 1996 and have since recorded six albums - 'Angels Fall First' (1997), 'Oceanborn' (1998), 'Wishmaster' (1997), 'Century Child' (2002), 'Once' (2004) and 'Dark Passion Play' (2007). ‘Dark Passion Play’ went 4xPlatinum in Finland. Vocalist and founder Tarja Turunen was dismised by the band in 2005 due to an apparent 'change of attitude'. She was replaced by Anette Olzon. The rest of the band are Tuomas Holopainen (Keyboard), Marco Hietala (Bass), Erno Vuorinen (Guitar) and Jukka Nevalainen (Drums). The band are currently touring their latest album, showcasing their unique brand of symphony power-metal.
