
George Michael told reporters he was looking forward to getting on with his life after being handed a sentence of 100 hours community service and a driving ban after pleading guilty to driving while unfit.
The 43-year-old attended Brent Magistrates court earlier today with his legal advisors to hear sentencing over an October 2006 incident when he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car in North London

Michael could have faced a possible jail term for the offence, which took place close to Wembley Stadium, where the pop singer is playing this weekend, but was instead sentenced to 100 hours of community service and banned from driving for two years.
"I was ashamed I had done something really wrong in putting other people at risk," he told the court.
Leaving court, Michael was in an upbeat mood as he greeted fans and reporters. Reading from a pre-prepared statement, he described the media coverage as "farcical", before adding, "I'm glad to put this behind me. Now I'm off to do the biggest show of my life."
