Kraftwerk are releasing a free download to raise awareness for nuclear reprocessing at the Rokkasho-mura plant in Japan.
The pioneering electronic act have signed up to support the Stop-Rokkasho campaign, which aims to educate people of the danger of the Rokkasho-mura and is led by famed musician Ryuichi Sakamoto. The Rokkasho plant has been opposed as far back as the 1970's, and studies have reportedly unearthed evidence of a threat to local people and the environment from plutonium separation.
Kraftwerk's new song "Radioactivity" can be streamed in its entirely from stop-rokkasho.org, or from the iTunes podcast.
