Modest Mouse chart No. 1 U.S. album

Indie favourites Modest Mouse have landed this week's No. 1 album on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 albums chart with "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank".
The Washington-based act release the follow-up to their 2004 set "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" in a week which sees Brit soul star Joss Stone also charting strongly at No. 2 with her second set "|Introducing Joss Stone".
The 2006 American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin hits No. 3 with his self-titled debut, while Chris Daughtry - another American Idol artist - holds at four with his self-titled set.
Another new entry at five, this time for R&B star Marques Houston's "Veteran", while Akon's "Konvicted" drops to six. In the rest of the top ten, Lloyd's "Street Love" is at seven, Musiq Soulchild's "Luvenmusiq" is at eight, Rich Boy's self-titled effort is at nine and Amy Winehouse's "Back To Black" rounds out the big ten.
Top of this week's singles chart is Akon, With "Don't' Matter" his second No. 1 of the year, while Fergie's "Glamorous" falls to two. Beyonce and Shakira's "Beautiful Liar," jumps a massive 91 places to three, Mims' "This Is Why I'm Hot" is at four and Gym Class Heroes' "Cupid's Chokehold" ft. Patrick Stump drops one place to five.
Michael Buble's "Everything" is the top debut at No. 46.
