Garbage are set to release a greatest hits set "Absolute Garbage" next year, Sound Generator can reveal.
Notching over 12m album sales since their 1995 breakthrough, the band are currently on indefinite hiatus, with many predicting the demise of the electro-rockers last year following a cancelled tour.
However, as it stands, a new album is rumoured for late 2007, and to plug the gap, the band are compiling their biggest hits onto one album, which is set for release March 19th via Warner Bros.
Leading the charge is a new single, released two weeks ahead of the album and which is currently unconfirmed, although a glance over the tracklisting leads us to believe it will not be on the album itself.
Running in chronological order, the compilation features singles including 'Stupid Girl', 'Why Do You Love Me', 'I Think I'm Paranoid', 'Push It' and 'When I Grow Up' as well as fan favourites such as 'Only Happy When It Rains', 'Vow' and 'Queer'.
