Our massive gallery feature takes in all the action over three days in Northern and Southern England

It doesn't get much bigger than this. In the absence of Glastonbury, the Carling Weekend became the daddy of festival going this summer for over 120,000 music fans over three days.
And Sound Generator have risen to the challenge - this year producing hundreds of the best images you'll find online to document the Carling Weekend 2006.
The Carling Weekend featured a staggering line-up of artists this year set over four stages of music - from headline acts including Pearl Jam, Muse and Kaiser Chiefs, to the up-and-coming names, there was something for everyone. The Arctic Monkeys capped an amazing year on the main stage, while acoustic sets from the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, among others, went on in the VIP Tiscali stage.
For our fifth year of coverage, we've done something a bit different - posting a massive selection of images from the weekend's action at the Reading Festival at Rivermead, and the Leeds Festival at Bramham Park to give you a real feeling of the event - the people, the atmosphere, the backstage and frontstage fun, and the bands.
All pictures from Reading come from Malcolm Bassett-Smith (for more on Malcolm's work, visit his showreel at
