Green Day are back in the studio and are hard at work on their new album, it has been revealed.
In a posting this week on their official site, the punk rock veterans confirmed they have started putting ideas together for the follow-up to 2004's "American Idiot" - which has shifted 13m copies worldwide to date, and landed the band a Grammy Award.
"Billie, Mike and Tre are back from summer vacations working hard on new material for the next Green Day album," the post reads on Greenday.com. "Stay tuned for more news next week."
