The first month of the band's forthcoming U.S. tour is affected

Aerosmith's Tom Hamilton has been diagnosed with throat cancer and has undertaken extensive radiotherapy sessions this summer to rid him of the illness, it has been revealed.
The 54-year-old is a founding member of the U.S. rock legends, forming the band with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry in 1960's Boston, and according to the band's publicist, is resting at home with his family after seven weeks of radiotherapy treatment.
The band's publicist, Marcee Rondan, said Hamilton would miss the first month of Aerosmith's forthcoming "Route of all Evil" tour, but added she had no further information about Hamilton's condition.
Guitarist Joe Perry has enlisted the help of his friend, bassist David Hull, to fill Hamilton's slot, until an expected return date of mid-October. Aerosmith's tour with Motley Crue begins in New Jersey on September 14th.
