Bono and Lou Reed are just two of the names for a new album inspired by the 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' feature films, Sound Generator can report.
There?s no place for Keith Richards, who actor Johnny Depp is reported to have based his character on in the Hollywood blockbuster, but there are a galaxy of big names contributing to "Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys".
The 43-track double album was conceived by Gore Verbinski, the director of the forthcoming 'Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", with musical guidance from Johnny Depp, and is set for release on August 21 by Anti Records.
Joining Bono and Lou Reed are Rufus Wainwright, covering "Lowlands Away" with his mother, Kate McFarrigle, Jarvis Cocker on "A Drop of Nelson's Blood", and Antony and the Johnson's Antony dueting with Bryan Ferry on "Lowlands Low".
