Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has spoken of how the intense highs of touring the world through 2005 led him to have a nervous breakdown after returning home.
The indie rockers toured the world relentlessly for almost three years to promote their debut album, including a massive three-month U.S. tour through summer 2005. In a recent interview, Meighan says he simply couldn?t find a way to come down after years of live performances, travelling and parties.
"I had a f**king breakdown after coming back home," he reveals. "I was scratching at the walls. I didn't know what to do. I was like a caged lion. It was horrible. All that partying and touring took a massive toll on my mind. It was f**king horrible coming back down to earth.
Meighan says he has now recovered and the band plan to release a new album later this year, possibly with a slightly less demanding tour schedule. "We did so many shows over the last three years. We were all like walking corpses. I don't think we could have pushed ourselves any further."
