Rapper Lil Wayne has signed a new deal with Cash Money Records, opting to stay with the label that has nurtured him to the brink of international stardom.
Wayne signed onto the Williams Brothers' Cash Money label, which is now distributed by Universal Motown, at age 11 and became one of 2004's breakthrough urban artists with his cameo on Destiny's Child's global hit 'Soldier':
"Lil Wayne is part of the heart and soul of the Cash Money family and always will be," said Label President and co-founder Ronald 'Slim' Williams in a statement. "He has grown up with Cash Money and we've watched him mature as an artist and now as an entrepreneur, with his new Young Money Label."
