The band lose an entire tour bus' worth of equipment.San Francisco rock act Film School have been handed a set back in their breakthrough year, as a tour bus full of their equipment was stolen this week.
According to a news release from their label, Beggars Banquet, the band were stopped off at a Comfort Inn Wednesday night (March 8) following a show in Philadelphia, leaving their brand new tour van in the well-protected parking lot.
However, it seems a keen-eyed thief broke into the Ford Econoline van, chopped out a piece of the steering wheel which was bolted to a security device and drove through the gates of the hotel car park to make their escape.
In total, the dreamy, progressive rock act lost four guitar amps, three guitars, a rack of guitar pedals (many of which were vintage models) and a drum kit, as well as other backline essentials.
"This isn't the story of a band being silly and randomly leaving their van on the street," a statement from Film School read. "This is a band that took precautions and still got screwed."
A UK representative said the five-piece were 'understandably devastated', but also amazed at the support that has come in since news spread.
Shows in Washington D.C. and Providence, R.I were subsequently cancelled, with their forthcoming slot at SXSW still in doubt.
