The band name new dates after Parfitt's all-clear.Status Quo will head back to the live arena this summer for their first dates following singer Rick Parfitt's cancer scare.
As reported in December,
[read: Status Quo's Parfitt cleared of cancer], Parfitt was given the all clear by doctors following explorative surgery on a tumour in his throat. At the time, the band were forced to cancel the remainder of their UK tour.
So far, the aging rockers have named two dates, with the first at the Birmingham NEC on Sunday 21 May 2006. The date will be recorded and released as a live DVD in Autumn 2006 through Warner Vision. On June 30, they plan to perform at Newmarket Racecourse.
The remainder of the summer dates will take place across Europe.
