The pop singer's first child with Penny Lancaster is born at a London hospital.Rod Steward and Penny Lancaster have welcomed their first child into the world - a baby boy weighing in at 7lbs 7oz.
The couple, who have been together for close to six years and announced their engagement earlier this year
[read: Rod Stewart to marry], were said to have returned home following the Sunday birth.
In a statement, Stewart said both his wife and newborn son were "gorgeous, healthy and doing well":
"I am so very proud of my girl Pen for the commitment, courage and strength she showed throughout," he said. "We are celebrating every moment with our beautiful boy, we just can't take our eyes off of him."
"It means so much to Rod and I that we were able to keep to our birthing plan and have our baby naturally," added Lancaster.
Stewart has six children from previous relationship.
The couple are expected to marry in 2006, following Stewart's marriage proposal atop the Eiffel Tower in March.
