The young violinist is to feature on the film 'Dreamer'Award-winning young American violinist Joshua Bell is to solo on the score for the DreamWorks Pictures movie 'Dreamer'. The score is to be composed by Oscar winner John Debney who has been responsible for many leading film soundtracks including 'Sin City', 'Spider-Man 2', 'Bruce Almighty' and the legendary score for 'The Passion of the Christ'.
The 'Dreamer' soundtrack will also feature an end-title song by 16-year-old singer Bethany Dillon. The movie is written and directed by John Gatins and inspired by a true story, featuring Kurt Russell, Dakota Fanning and Kris Kristofferson. The movie opens in the US on Friday, October 21, 2005 with the soundtrack album hitting stores in Tuesday 18 October 2005 on Sony Classical.
Bell is no stranger to working on film soundtracks. His performance on the English film 'Ladies in Lavender' was nominated for a classical Brit Ward and has won him many fans. He also played on 'Iris' and the Oscar Winning film 'Red Violin'.
The young violinist has become one of the world's most acclaimed classical violinists. His most recent addition to his varied catalogue is a new live recording of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with Michael Tilson Thomas conducting the Berlin Philharmonic. His previous recording 'Romance of the Violin' was named by Billboard Magazine as the 2004 Classical Recording of the Year, and Bell was
named Classical Artist of the Year.
