Guitarist Brian 'Head' Welsch has quit pioneering nu-metal act Korn to dedicate his life to Christianity.
The musician has been with the Bakerfield, CA, hard rock quintet since their formation in 1993, and said his bandmates respected his decision to leave prior to the release of the band's eighth album.
"I had it in my heart to come here and explain to you," Welch said, speaking to local station KRAB-FM on Sunday (Feb. 20), Welsh said. "I'm good friends with Korn. I love those guys, and they love me, and they're very happy for me."
