Razorlight have cancelled their forthcoming UK tour, with frontman Johnny Borrell failing to sufficiently recover from a throat infection.
The band were due to kick off the biggest tour of their career with six dates across the country, starting this Friday (Feb. 4) in Manchester. However, Borrell flew back to the UK last week, cutting short a US club tour, to consult a specialist, who ordered the star to rest his voice for at least two weeks.
A statement issued by the band's label added 'Johnny, Bjorn, Carl, and Andy apologise for the inconvenience caused to all those coming to the shows and are keen to reschedule the sold-out six night run at Manchester Apollo, Glasgow Academy, and London's Alexandra Palace with as little delay as possible.'
Razorlight had been finishing up a short North American tour when Johnny Borrell, developed serious problems with his voice, cancelling the final sold-out show at Los Angeles's El Rey Theatre, whilst Johnny saw a specialist in Los Angeles.
He was diagnosed as suffering from a laryngitis type infection, administered anti-inflammatories and banned from singing for at least two weeks.
Less than a week previous to Borrell's vocal problems the band performed a sold-out date at Chicago's Double Door
