APC front man Maynard James Keenan tells fans 'Think For Yourself. Question Authority'

To coincide with the US presidential elections on November 2nd LA based rockers APC will be releasing a collection of songs about war, peace, love & greed. The album is to be called "eMOTIVe" and features new material and songs like "Imagine" by John Lennon, "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye, "Let's Have A War" by FEAR.
Maynard James Keenan, who is also the lead singer with the band Tool, issued a statement on the bands website and to the press. The singer said: "This week we will release one of these new songs entitled, "Counting bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums," with an animated video poking fun at our fearless leader. Hopefully, you'll find it as entertaining as we do."
He went on to say, "Remember...every single vote counts. Don't let yourself be tricked into thinking it does not. It is important for us all to engage this political system and to be conscious of who is being chosen to speak for us. If you choose not to be involved with decisions that affect your life on a daily basis, in our opinion, you forfeit your right to complain about it later. THINK FOR YOURSELF. QUESTION AUTHORITY. Hopefully you will choose to vote on November 2nd."
It is by no means the first time that musicians and stars in entertainment have put their name behind campaigns against political leaders. Bruce Springsteen's "Vote For Change" support looks to encourage voters in 'swing States' with a series of high profile concerts. Many musicians have also got behind the "Rock The Vote' campaign which just encourages the US public to vote whatever their political persuasion.
Country stars have also taken to the political platform with the "Your Country Your Vote" campaign. Randy Travis, Billy Dean and Ricky Skaggs are some of the artists involved in their campaign to just get the public voting.
Artists like Alice Copper have publicly denounced those hijacking the political bandwagon and believes that no one should be told who to vote for, be it Springsteen or Alice Cooper.
Whatever the outcome it seems that all musicians do care about the future of America and many will use their popularity and star status to get their voices and opinions heard.
