Kylie, Missy Elliot, Britney Spears and Usher all have videos nominated for the 10th annual awards
Dance has always played an important part in music videos and live shows. Some of the major exponents of the use of dance in their work as musicians include the likes of Kate Bush, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Paul Abdul, Kylie Minogue, Ricki Martin, Missy Elliot and many more. They have all used dancers and choreographers in many of their videos and live shows.
Nominations for the Tenth Annual American Choreography Awards, a live dance extravaganza and awards show is to be held on October 17th, 2004 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. The event hands out honours to individuals who have made notable contributions to the art and craft of choreography for the camera. It recognizes outstanding achievement in feature film, television, commercials, music video, fight choreography and short films.
The American Choreography Awards will be directed by choreographer Ramon del Barrio and will feature performances by world-renowned choreographers and dancers. Included in the list of presenters from the world of music are Paula Abdul, Quincy Jones & Pink.
The nominations were decided by seven individual nomination panel committees comprised of media choreographers, casting directors, directors and producers with expertise in their respective categories.
