Bryn Terfel’s Faenol Festival have been given the go-ahead despite fears that it may not be allowed to take place

Leading opera singer Bryn Terfel's Faenol Festival have been given the go-ahead despite fears that it may not be allowed to take place. The festival which is in it's fifth year is an annual three-day event that takes place in Gwynedd in Wales.
The problems this year have arisen because of another festival, the Summer Pops extravaganza, that takes place several weeks before Faenol. The festival promoter, IMG Arts Entertainment were concerned about the sheer number of people walking through the Faenol Estate which could pose a potential problem.
With the all clear now given the festival will see this years event point towards a jazz tip. Both Jools Holland and Jamie Cullum will headline on August 28th, appearing together for the first time with a variety of other young international performers. Joseph Calleja the twenty-six-year-old tenor will perform with the host Bryn Terfel in the Gala Opera Night on the Bank Holiday Sunday.
Bryn Terfel said on his website "It gives me great pleasure to finally confirm that the Faenol Festival will be going ahead as planned this year, and I would like to give thanks from the bottom of my heart for all the local support in ensuring this."
