Tom DeLonge has revealed a side of his character not previously embraced by the mainstream while in his previous band, foul-mouthed, raucous punk-rockers Blink 182.
Now fronting Angels and Airwaves, DeLonge reveals in new interview how his staunch Christian upbringing is influencing the band. "I was born and raised Christian. My mom was an extremely conservative Christian and I very much have those roots in my life," he says.
"I'm extremely spiritual and I have my own ideas of what happens when you die and how we're all connected. "I think that will play some part in what this band's about."
DeLonge also touched on 9/11 while being interviewed for San Diego's KAVA-FM (91X), citing the much-vaunted conspiracy theory.
Angels and Airwaves made their local debut on Saturday (May 6) at the House Of Blues.
