US Charts: John Mayer Gets First Number One
John Mayer's new album 'Heavier Things' gets him the first US number one album of his career.
John Mayer's new album 'Heavier Things' gets him the first US number one album of his career. 'Shake Ya Tailfeather' by Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee still reigns on the singles chart.

Mayer's debut at the top of the album charts means that last week's number one, Hilary Duff's 'Metamorphosis' enjoys just a week at the top, falling to two this week.

Second highest debut of the week is 'Seal IV' which lands at three, Alan Jackson's 'Greatest Hits Volume II' falls one place to four and Mary J. Blige's 'Love & Life' suffers a big hit falling from two to eight.

New in the top twenty this week is Hip Hop artist E-40 at number 16 with 'Breaking News' and UK metal gods Iron Maiden see their new album 'Dance Of Death' land at number 20. Another notable entry this week include country music star Clay Walker with 'A Few Questions' at 23.

After the death of two major music stars in the last week, Johnny Cash and Warren Zevon, both their recent albums see sales spikes. Cash's 'American IV: The Man Comes Around' rises 94-22 and Zevon recently released album 'The Wind' is up 40-12.

Over on the singles chart Nelly, P. Diddy and Murphy Lee once again are top with 'Shake Ya Tailfeather', now in its forth week at one. Beyonce's 'Baby Boy' featuring Sean Paul is making a serious challenge though, maintaining its position at two.

Lil John & the East Side Boys enjoy a good week as 'Get Low' moves up six to four but fails to overtake Chingy, who's 'Right Thurr' holds at three. 'Into You' by Fabolous Featuring Tamia Or Ashanti makes up the final track in the top five at five.

Big movers this week include R Kelly up from 22-15 with 'Thoia Thoing', 'Stand Up' by Ludacris Featuring Shawnna rising 38 to 21 and 3 Doors Down with 'Here Without You' up 15 to 25.

Matchoox 20 score the top debut this week with 'Bright Lights' at 73. A Perfect Circle's 'Week and Powerless' goes in at 78, Outkast land at 83 with 'The Way You Move' feat. Sleepy, Monica's 'Knock Knock' is new at 89 and Saliva are new at 93 with 'Rest In Pieces'.
