Paul Weller will be handed the Godlike Genius honour at this year's Shockwaves NME Awards.

The NME Godlike Genius prize will be awarded to former Jam frontman Paul Weller, it has been confirmed.
According to the music magazine, the musician will be handed the accolade at the annual award ceremony at the O2 Academy Brixton on February 24th, which is to be presented by former Pulp man Jarvis Cocker.
Previous winners of the honour include The Clash, Ian Brown, The Cure, New Order and Manic Street Preachers.
Weller commented: "I'm very happy to accept the award, I don't feel godlike or a genius but I'm happy to have it."
However, he conceded that it is "nice to be recognised", but added that the greatest feeling for a musician is seeing people enjoy their live performances.
Last month, Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian secured a clutch of nominations for the Shockwaves NME Awards 2010, competing for six gongs each - including the coveted best band, best album and best live band accolades.
