Digital music collections may not be covered by home insurance policies, fans have been told.

Music lovers could find their digital tracks are not covered under their home insurance, experts have warned.
A study by Sainsbury's Home Insurance claimed that around £1.3 billion worth of music has been downloaded in Britain, but less than one-quarter of polices include cover for digital tracks.
In addition, the research found that the average downloader has a collection worth around £85, although nearly one million fans say they have spent more than £250 on digital music.
The report also showed that only five per cent of music lovers know that their digital collection is included in their home insurance, while almost one-quarter think they would not be covered if it was lost.
Sainsbury's Home Insurance manager Ben Tyte commented: "Downloading music has taken off in recent years, but many home insurance policies are lagging behind in terms of covering people for their purchases."
Recently, recorded music representative group BPI revealed that 16.1 million digital albums were sold in the UK in the last year, accounting for 12.5 per cent of the total market.
