Guy Ritchie is to take a step into the music world with a new record label.

Movie director Guy Ritchie will launch a new record label named after his London pub The Punchbowl, it has been reported.
According to the Sun, the filmmaker, whose latest production Sherlock Holmes is currently showing at the cinema, will start to release songs through his Punchbowl Recordings label.
In addition, Ritchie is keeping the link to his pub going, as his first signing is its resident group - The Punchbowl Band.
"It's exciting to venture into the music industry. It's a tough place but I've seen this band connect with people. They have every chance of being embraced by a wider audience," the director told the newspaper.
The Punchbowl Band has already had a good start to their careers, after they appeared on the Sherlock Holmes soundtrack and performed in front of stars such as Sting, Prince Williams, Cheryl Cole and Jude Law.
Last month, Status Quo were named the hardest working band in the UK in 2009 by the Performing Rights Society, something which label boss, film director and publican Ritchie will have trouble beating.
